Jonesing for a better look at that new Nexus 7 that was the subject of multiple leaks earlier this week? Well it's back again today, continuing the steady stream of leaked press images that we've seen this weekend.
Prolific leaker @evleaks has shared some press shots that give us a clear look at the front and rear of the new Nexus 7. Looking at the Nexus 7's face, we can see a 7-inch display smack dab in the middle of a front-facing camera and what appears to be a notification light. Around back there's a new rear-facing camera, a speaker up at the top (with another speaker likely at the bottom), and some "Nexus" branding in the middle of its rear panel.
In addition to these press images, the folks at PhoneArena have gotten hold of a Best Buy ad that's reportedly due to be included in newspapers next Sunday, July 28. The ad shows the new Nexus 7 in plain view, looking just like the unit in today's press image leak. The new Nexus 7 is listed with 16GB of storage and a $229.99 price tag along with a release date of Tuesday, July 30. Interestingly, this Best Buy ad also mentions that the new Nexus 7 sports a 1920x1200 screen resolution, which is one of the few new N7 specs that've evaded us so far.
Google has scheduled an event for July 24 that will be hosted by Android and Chrome head Sundar Pichai. With a launch that could happen less than a week later, it seems likely that the new Nexus 7 will be one of the items on Pichai's list of topics to discuss. It's also possible that the event will bring the official reveal of Android 4.3, which has been leaking quite frequently lately. We've also got Verizon's DROID event on July 23, the Moto X reveal on August 1, and LG's G2 announcement on August 7, so the next few weeks ought to be pretty big for Android fans and the mobile world in general. Buckle up.
UPDATE: A new image has been shared by @evleaks that shows off the side of the new Nexus 7, complete with a power/lock button and a volume rocker. Check it out below.
