Looks like we've got another developer event to add to the list that already includes the likes of Google I/O and Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference. Today Samsung announced that it will be holding the first Samsung Developers Conference from Oct. 27 through Oct. 29 in San Francisco, Calif. The website for the gathering says that attendees will be able to "engage with industry leaders," "collaborate with fellow developers," "learn about new Samsung tools and SDKs," and even "create what's next."
A growing trend in the tech world is companies opting to hold their own events for product announcements rather than unleashing them at major conferences like CES and MWC. Samsung has been doing that for the past couple of years, and now it appears that the firm believes that its product portfolio has gotten large enough to warrant its own dedicated developer conference as well.
It's worth noting that Samsung says that its developer event will include "all divisions, platforms, and devices," but I wouldn't be surprised if mobile ends up being one of the biggest topics of discussion.
