U.S. Cellular teased earlier this year that it was preparing to launch its first Windows Phone 8 device, but the carrier didn't have any availability details to share at that time. Now it seems that a tweet from one of U.S. Cellular's official Twitter accounts may have finally shed a bit more light on its WP8 plans. In response to a question about when U.S. Cellular would be releasing some Windows Phone 8 hardware, the @USCellularCares account said that it will be "getting a WP8 sometime this month."
In addition to staying quiet about its Windows Phone 8 release schedule, U.S. Cellular has remained tight-lipped about which WP8 product it will be offering. A recent leak may have ruined U.S. Cellular's surprise, though, as images of a USCC-branded Samsung ATIV Odyssey made their way online last month. While not quite official, we've seen U.S. Cellular launch hardware that was previously released on Verizon several times in the past, and so the ATIV Odyssey would make sense as a U.S. Cellular device. If USCC is indeed launching its WP8 device this month, it shouldn't be much longer before we get an official announcement, so keep it locked to PhoneDog for more details as we get 'em.
@Delibird444 great news, we are getting a WP8 sometime this month. What are you looking forward to in the WP8? ^AS
