Hot on the heels of Sony's introduction of the Xperia Z Ultra and its large 6.44-inch display, another Xperia handset with its own unique feature has leaked out. This time we're looking at a device referred to as the Sony Xperia i1 "Honami," and rather than packing a humongous screen, this phone's special feature is rumored to be a 20-megapixel camera.

The images, posted by Just Another Mobile Phone Blog, show a fairly generic-looking black handset with a design similar to the OmniBalance design found on the Sony Xperia Z. The phone's backside is home to its 20-megapixel camera, and while the Honami shown in these photos has an LED flash, it's said that the final model will sport a Xenon flash. Also shown in this batch of leaked photos is a microSD card slot, magnetic charging port, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a dedicated camera key for that beefy shooter on the Honami's backside.

Besides its 20-megapixel camera and microSD slot, the Honami is rumored to be coming to market with a larger-than-5-inch display and a Snapdragon 800 processor. While still very much a rumor, the Honami's should slot in at the high-end of Sony's lineup if its alleged spec list holds true.

We've seen many device makers focus on cameras as of late, including Nokia's upcoming 41-megapixel EOS, Samsung's Galaxy S 4 Zoom and HTC's One, and so now it appears that Sony is planning to enter the fray with a camera-centric smartphone of its own. Now we just have to wait to see how the Honami's 20-megapixel shooter actually performs. The good news is that Android Central's sources have suggested that the Honami could launch in Q3 2012, so it may not be long before we find out.
