In week 64 of PhoneDog Media's Official Smartphone Rankings™, the HTC One remained in the first place spot yet again, topping newer smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S 4 and LG Optimus G Pro. The One appears to be headed for the first place record on the charts, but rumors of hot new smartphones persist. Will the buzz around the HTC One continue - and perhaps more importantly, can it continue to compete against Samsung’s Galaxy S 4 and the company’s marketing budget?
MT PLEASANT, SC – May 26, 2013 – For 64 weeks and counting, PhoneDog Media's Official Smartphone Rankings™ (OSR) has become the gold standard for ranking the best smartphones on the market by placing votes from readers and experts alike in respective charts each week. For a fourth week, the HTC One retained the first place positions on the People’s Choice and Expert’s Choice charts, receiving a total of 590 votes and 48 expert points. Available on AT&T and Sprint in black and silver, and T-Mobile in silver, the HTC One offers a metal exterior and unique features like an UltraPixel camera and HTC BlinkFeed.
The people kept the Samsung Galaxy S 4 in the second place position with 206 votes, while the Samsung Galaxy Note II held steady in third place with 72 votes. The Nokia Lumia 920 and Google (LG) Nexus 4 tied for fourth place, each obtaining 52 votes. In fifth place, the BlackBerry Z10 with 31 votes. On the Expert’s Choice Chart, the Samsung Galaxy S 4 held the second place position with 40 points, while the Apple iPhone 5 remained in third place with 30 points. In fourth place, the Samsung Galaxy Note II with 16 points, while the fifth place position was awarded to the LG Optimus G Pro with 8 points.
