Sprint announced this morning that its Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile prepaid brands will soon begin offering the Samsung Galaxy S III. The handset will be hitting both Boost and Virgin in June with 4G LTE connectivity in tow, giving buyers access to Sprint LTE coverage in the 88 markets where the service is currently available. Pricing for the Boost and Virgin Galaxy S III models will be announced at a later date. We do have the spec details for the two units, though, and they're (unsurprisingly) fairly similar to the Galaxy S IIIs that are available on several other U.S. carriers:
Meanwhile, Sprint has announced plans to launch a trio of tri-band 4G LTE mobile broadband devices this summer. Included in the pack are two mobile hotspots from Novatel and Netgear and a Netgear-made USB modem. All three devices will include support for LTE on Sprint's 800MHz (service rolling out later this year after the iDEN shutdown) and 1900MHz bands as well as Clearwire's 2500Mhz band. The trio will be landing on Sprint shelves this summer, but the big yellow carrier hasn't yet said how much they'll cost when they do. Sprint has also teased that its first smartphones with tri-band LTE support will be coming before the end of 2013. The handsets will be made by Samsung and LG, but those are the only details being offered by Sprint so far. Stay tuned and we'll give you a shout once we hear more.
