There's some good news today for Verizon customers that are started to get a little jealous of their friends on other carriers that are already toting around Samsung's new Galaxy S 4. Verizon just announced that it now plans to launch the Galaxy S 4 in stores and online on May 23, a full week earlier than the release date that it gave last month. The 16GB Galaxy S 4 will be available from Verizon in both Black Mist and White Frost for $199.99 with a two-year contract and $50 mail-in rebate.
Samsung's Galaxy S 4 is slated to arrive on a total of seven U.S. carriers, and so far it's available from four of them. Verizon is the only major U.S. operator that doesn't have the Galaxy S 4 on its shelves, and originally the device wasn't slated to go on sale until May 30, more than a month after the GS4 began hitting other carriers. Of course, Verizon folk still have to wait a bit before they can get their mitts on Samsung's latest, but at least that wait has now been trimmed down by a full week.
