Google hasn't said much about its Nexus Q media streamer ever since it postponed the unit's consumer launch in July 2012, and according to a new report, that won't be changing at I/O this week. Sources tell AllThingsD that Google has no plans to make any announcements related to the Nexus Q during its I/O 2013 conference, which will take place from May 15 through May 17.

The Nexus Q was originally introduced at the 2012 edition of I/O as a "social streaming media player" that could stream audio and video from Android devices. The small orb launched in July 2012 with a $300 price tag, but just one week after going on sale, Google announced that it was halting sales of the Q due to feedback from consumers that said that they wanted it "to do even more." 

While the little black orb that is the Nexus Q was an attractive piece of hardware, it also had a price tag that many considered to be a tad high for its feature set. Google said when it postponed the device that it was doing so to "work on making it even better," but strangely, the company hasn't said anything about the Q in the 10 months since it made that statement. While I/O 2013 seems like it'd be a good place for Google to bring up the Nexus Q once again, apparently El Goog isn't quite ready to do so. After today's report, the situation surrounding the Nexus Q is once again foggy, and we're left to wonder when (or if) we'll hear more about the device.
