The Galaxy S 4 may be the newest Samsung flagship in town, but owners of last year's model aren't being forgotten. The latest example of that is the T-Mobile version of the Galaxy S III, which is now receiving an update to Android 4.1.2.
As noted by our pals at TmoNews, owners of the T-Mobile-flavored Galaxy S III are now being hit with an update that bumps the Galaxy S III's software up to Android 4.1.2. Neither Samsung nor T-Mobile have announced the update yet, so it's not clear exactly what's packed inside of it, but a couple of users that've already installed the update say that Multi-Window is included.
It appears that T-Mobile Galaxy S III owners are installing this new update using both the over the air method as well as Samsung's Kies computer software, so anyone that's got Magenta's version of the GSIII by their side have a couple of ways to try and snag the Android 4.1.2 bump. We'll be sure to give you a shout with more information as we get it, but until then, you can try to get the update ball rolling by either moseying on in to Settings > About device > Software update or plugging your phone into your computer and firing up Kies.
UPDATE: T-Mobile has posted the official changelog for this update in its support forums. The T999UVDMD5 update weighs in at 168MB and will begin rolling out over the air today, May 13, and will continue going out to devices until June 16. The update is also available through Samsung's Kies computer software, which can be found right here. The full changelog for the T999UVDMD5 update is as follows:
