LG Optimus Exceed tipped as Verizon prepaid version of LG Lucid

The LG Lucid line of devices on Verizon recently expanded to two entries with the arrival of the Lucid2, but that doesn't mean that LG and Verizon are done with the original model quite yet. According to a report from @evleaks on 9to5Google, the first Lucid is due to make the jump to Verizon's prepaid unit, and in the process it'll be getting a name change to "LG Optimus Exceed." The image shared by @evleaks looks similar to the one from the original Lucid's debut in March 2012, but with an updated widget and set of app icons.

There are no spec details for the Optimus Exceed included in today's report, but if it is indeed just like the original Lucid, then we should expect it to pack a 4-inch 800x480 touchscreen, 5-megapixel rear and VGA front cameras, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 8GB storage and a microSD card slot. One feature that likely won't make the cut is 4G connectivity, as evidenced both by Verizon's lack of LTE support on its prepaid smartphone plans as well as the fact that this Optimus Exceed render shows "3G" in its status bar rather than "4G LTE" like the OG Lucid. The Optimus Exceed will reportedly feature an affordable price and the model number "VS840PP."
