Grab your calendars, folks! LG just sent us a "Save the Date" invitation for an event that's taking place in New York City on May 1, which is two weeks from tomorrow. The invitation includes taglines like "Share the Genius" and "Capture the Spotlight in True Brilliance," but there's no mention of exactly what LG plans to show off at the shindig.

We'll just have to wait until May 1 rolls around to find out exactly what LG's got up its sleeve for us, but the fact that it's scheduled an event in New York City suggests that whatever LG is planning to show is big. One possibility is the LG Optimus G Pro, which is big both for the company and quite literally a large phone. LG said earlier this year that a North American release was in the cards for its Optimus G Pro, and more recently, a rumor claimed that the G Pro will be hitting AT&T's shelves in early May.
