After updating its Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket to Android 4.1 last week, AT&T today announced that another one of its devices will be getting bumped up to Jelly Bean. The next lucky handset is the LG Escape, a device that launched late last year with Android 4.0 in tow.

Available starting today, the LG Escape's bump up to Android 4.1 will bring with it new features like Google Now and expandable notifications, as well as an AT&T DriveMode app that can detect when a user is in a vehicle that's moving 25 mph or faster. Once the app knows that it's in a car that's traveling at that speed, it can automatically reply to any incoming calls, emails and messages.

Any AT&T customers that own an LG Escape can update to Jelly Bean by hooking up to a Wi-Fi connection and then going into Settings > General > About phone > Software Update > Update Now. It's always good to see Android devices receiving a major update, and that's especially true in this instance, as mid-range phones like the LG Escape deserve Jelly Bean treats just like their higher-end brethren.
