Ahead of T-Mobile's iPhone 5 launch on Friday, the magenta operator has announced a new promotion in an effort to get a few more customers to pull the trigger on its official iOS smartphones. T-Mobile this morning revealed a new trade-in offer that allows customers to bring an iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S into their local T-Mobile store and receive an iPhone 5 for a down payment of $0. That leaves the buyer with just the monthly payments to take care of, which are set at $20 per month for 24 months. The iPhone trade-in could help take care of those as well, though, as T-Mobile says that, depending on the value of their trade-in, customers could receive an additional credit of up to $120 to put toward accessories or their monthly bill/payments.
The iPhone 5 will be available from T-Mobile starting on April 12 at 9 a.m. at all T-Mobile-owned stores as well as the carrier's website. The good news for customers interested in snagging a Big Magenta iPhone is that there will be plenty of time to take advantage of this new trade-in promotion, as it'll be running through June 16.
While some folks may prefer to sell an old iPhone on eBay or Craigslist to help pay for new T-Mobile iPhone, there's no doubt that this new trade-in offer from T-Mo is a quick and easy way to get rid of an older iOS smartphone while also saving some cash on an updated model.
