A Jelly Bean update for the Samsung Galaxy Axiom isn't the only big news that U.S. Cellular has to share today, as the carrier has also revealed that it's kicking off a new promotion that gives consumers a chance to test out its network before making any kind of service commitments. The "Network Test-Drive" is currently being offered in select markets across the country, including Greenville, N.C., Alcoa, Tenn., and Coos Bay, Ore. After signing up, customers will be given a full week to try out U.S. Cellular's network with a "qualifying device" without any charges or agreements.
We've seen U.S. Cellular introduce several promotions in the past that are aimed at attracting new customers to its network, including an unlimited 4G LTE data plan and $300 switcher offer, and this new "Network Test-Drive" promo looks to be the operator's latest attempt at signing up new users. Having a full week to test out U.S. Cellular's network for a full week ought to give interested customers plenty of opportunities to make sure it works where they need it to, and the fact that there's no cost for the trial could make it pretty attractive to anyone that's considering switching carriers.
It's not clear exactly how long the "Network Test-Drive" promo will run, as U.S. Cellular only says that it'll be available "for a limited time." If you've been thinking about making the jump to USCC and want to see if this offer is available in your town, you can see view all of the participating locations by visiting the carrier's website at the link below.
