Around five months after officially introducing the Galaxy S III, Samsung trotted out a shrunken down version of the device, aptly known as the Galaxy S III mini. A new leak suggests that Samsung will do the same thing again this year, but we may not have to wait quite as long for the miniaturized Galaxy S 4. Some new images originally posted by Twitter user @ErmEchkiN and shared by SamMobile claim to show the Samsung Galaxy S 4 mini in the wild, resting next to its Galaxy S III and Galaxy S 4 siblings. Unsurprisingly, the device looks like a smaller version of the Galaxy S 4, complete with a more rounded physical home button and a silver band around the edge of the unit.

As far as specs go, the Galaxy S 4 mini is rumored to include a 4.3-inch qHD (960x540) Super AMOLED display, which would be a bump up from the Galaxy S III mini's 4-inch 800x480 Super AMOLED screen. Also said to be included in the S 4 mini is a 1.6GHz dual-core processor. One of the leaked images of the unit shows its About Phone screen, which lists the S 4 mini as running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean beneath Samsung's TouchWiz UI. The About Phone menu also indicates that the model number of the S 4 mini is GT-I9190, which is a step up from the S III mini's GT-I8190 model number. The Galaxy S 4 mini is reportedly set to be introduced in June or July.

While this Galaxy S 4 mini is still very much an unofficial, rumored device until Samsung announces it (big stage show optional), it wouldn't be a huge shock to see the company launch a mini version of the S 4 just like it did with the S III. Many folks still like smaller, 4 to 4.3-inch devices, and the Galaxy S 4 mini would give them a device that's got Galaxy S 4 styling but in a smaller package. If the S 4 mini's rumored specs hold true, it won't be the high-end-but-still-small device that many are dying for, but the S III mini didn't fit that description either.
