Earlier this month, Sony posted the details of the AT&T Xperia TL's Jelly Bean update, and some owners of the device were reportedly even able to grab the Android 4.1 bump using Sony's PC Companion or Bridge for Mac software. However, several of our commenters didn't have luck getting the update. That should change starting today, as AT&T has announced that the Xperia TL's Jelly Bean update is officially starting its rollout today, March 12.
Along with the usual Jelly Bean enhancements such as Google Now and expandable notifications, the Xperia TL's Jelly Bean update also includes an improved camera interface with a Superior Auto mode that can select the best settings for an image automatically, as well as new High Dynamic Range capabilities. There's improved power management and AT&T's DriveMode app included as well, the latter of which can automatically send a reply to incoming messages when the phone detects that it's in a vehicle moving 25 mph or more.
Any Xperia TL users that want to get their Jelly Bean on as soon as possible can connect their device to Wi-Fi and head into Settings > About phone > Software update to manually check for Android 4.1. Getting bumped up from Android 4.0 to Android 4.1 brings with it a number of improvements that ought to make using the Xperia TL an all-around better experience, so anyone out there that calls this Bond phone their daily driver will likely want to keep an eye out for this Jelly Bean update in the coming days. Be sure to give us a shout in the comments section below once the update arrives on your device!
