Details on the upcoming Nokia Lumia 928 for Verizon have been trickling out in recent months, with rumors claiming that device features the codename "Laser" and that it'll be a variant of the Lumia 920. Today it seems that we've hit the Lumia 928 leak motherlode, though, as The Verge claims to have a pretty full rundown on the still-rumored device. The site's sources say that the Lumia 928 will ditch the polycarbonate design found on recent Nokia Lumia models like the 920 in favor of an aluminum construction, which we've also heard will be including with another upcoming Nokia Lumia that's codenamed "Catwalk."

Along with a new aluminum body, the Lumia 928 will also reportedly be thinner and lighter than the Lumia 920, measuring 10.2mm at its thinnest point (the 920 is 10.7mm). The 928's body is said to have a squarish shape that's reminiscent of the Lumia 720 but with a backside that's "slightly curved." In terms of straight-up specs, the Lumia 928 is expected to feature a 4.5-inch OLED display, 8-megapixel PureView camera with a xenon and LED flash pairing and support for simultaneous voice and LTE. The processor and RAM are purportedly unchanged from the Lumia 920 to the Lumia 928, meaning that the new model will pack a 1.5GHz dual-core CPU and 1GB RAM.

The good news for Windows Phone fans on Verizon is that they may not have much longer to wait to get their mitts on the Lumia 928, as the device is rumored to be slated to an April launch. The Lumia 928 will be the second Nokia Lumia model on Verizon once it does arrive, joining the mid-range Lumia 822 that debuted last year. So far AT&T has had a bit of a monopoly on high-end Lumia smartphones here in the U.S., it looks like that'll be changing next month.

So long as today's report holds true, the Lumia 928 could be a big device for Nokia, as it'll mark the arrival of the company's first flagship Lumia for Verizon. It'll also be the first time in a while that we see a new Nokia Lumia device that abandons the polycarbonate construction that the firm has been using heavily since the N9/Lumia 800 and instead utilizes an aluminum frame.
