Good news, Motorola DROID 4 owners, because you no longer have a reason to be jealous of your DROID RAZR and DROID RAZR MAXX-owning buddies. According to a report from Droid-Life, several users recently received an invitation from Motorola to try an "early preview of a new software release," meaning that the company is likely getting ready to kick off a soak test for a new DROID 4 update. As is usually the case with these update tests, Motorola made no mention of exactly what this new software might bring to the DROID 4.
So what might this update contain? I'm sure that many DROID 4 owners are eager to get their helping of Jelly Bean, and that is certainly one possibility. Motorola has already confirmed that the DROID 4 will be upgraded to Jelly Bean, but firm has yet to say exactly when it expects to begin pushing the D4's Jelly Bean update out to users. Interestingly, a Moto employee recently created a support forum thread that invites users to share information on the Jelly Bean update and to make sure that they've got the correct MEID registered with their Motorola Feedback Network profile, which is what Moto uses to select users for its soak tests. Now that we know that an update is coming soon to the D4, we just have to wait for it to roll out to see exactly what's inside. Get excited, DROID 4 owners!
