While the Nexus 4 has become more widely available in recent weeks thanks to both Google and T-Mobile getting new stock of the handset, some interested customers may still be without an N4 to call their own for one reason or another. The good news is that those folks now have yet another way to purchase Google's latest smartphone, as select Walmart stores have begun offering the Nexus 4. According to a report from TmoNews, 1,500 Walmart stores across the country are now stock the 16GB Nexus 4, complete with a price tag of $148 with a two-year Classic plan contract.
The Nexus 4 isn't the only popular T-Mobile handset that Walmart has started hawking, though, as TmoNews has learned that some Wally World locations are also selling the Samsung Galaxy Note II in Marble White. Pricing is set at $278 with a two-year Classic contract, and as with the Nexus 4, it's estimated that 1,500 Walmart stores are offering the T-Mobile Note II.
While Walmart may not be the first place that some people think of when it comes time to purchase a new smartphone, the store's prices on these two handsets are pretty good. The Nexus 4 is a tad pricier at Walmart than it is at T-Mobile right now thanks to Magenta's $50 (online-only) sale price, but Walmart's $148 price tag is around $50 less than T-Mo's typical Nexus 4 price. Plus, buying at Walmart means that you get your Nexus 4 right away, whereas ordering from T-Mobile's website means that your Jelly Bean treat must be shipped to you. The Note II is also cheaper at Walmart, coming in at around $91 less than T-Mobile's normal price. Just remember to call your local Walmart store(s) before leaving home so that you don't have to drive around to multiple stores in your hunt for a new smartphone.
