The past week has been a big one for BlackBerry with the official BlackBerry 10 launch event and the debut of the Z10 smartphone in countries like Canada and the U.K. The company formerly known as RIM has continued on its roll of introducing new things today with the launch of BlackBerry Bridge version 3.0. BlackBerry says that the new app was crafted with BlackBerry 10 in mind, giving BB10 users the ability to do things like share their Internet connection with a PlayBook tablet, control the PlayBook with their BB10 smartphone and use a PlayBook to view the files on a BB10 smartphone. Users can also take advantage of BB10's new Share functionality to open bookmarks and files on a PlayBook.
Unfortunately for BlackBerry 10 users, while this new version of Bridge packs in some nice goodies for BB10, it also appears to be missing some other features. Several reviews for the app on BlackBerry World mention that the new Bridge is missing BBM and SMS functionality, though BlackBerry does note that it intends to bring "BBM and other applications" to the app in an update that'll be released later this year. At least new BlackBerry Z10 owners have some other features to tinker with until then, I suppose. The BlackBerry Bridge app can be found be hitting up the BlackBerry World link below.
