For seven weeks and counting, the Samsung Galaxy Note II has been a fan favorite, topping both the People's Choice Chart and Mobile Tech Experts' Chart in PhoneDog Media's Official Smartphone Rankings™. Its lead over the competition is slowly narrowing, and with high-profile releases inevitable in 2013, its time at the top is limited. What will be the device that knocks it from its pedestal?
MT PLEASANT, SC – PhoneDog Media's Official Smartphone Rankings™ (OSR) is 45-weeks-old and counting and continues to set the standard for ranking the hottest smartphones in the mobile market. In week 45, the Samsung Galaxy Note II squeaked by in both the People's Choice Chart and the Mobile Tech Experts' Chart. It bested the Nokia Lumia 920 by 103 votes in the People's Choice Chart and the Apple iPhone 5 by one expert point in the Experts' Chart.
Second in the People's Choice Chart was the Nokia Lumia 920, once again. It lead the Samsung Galaxy S III in third by 34 votes. In the Mobile Tech Experts' Chart, the Apple iPhone 5 took second place with 37 expert points. The HTC DROID DNA took third with 20 points, barely beating the Google Nexus 4, which stole the #4 position from the Samsung Galaxy S III with 17 points.
“The Samsung Galaxy Note II continues to dominate both charts in PhoneDog’s Official Smartphone Rankings, but many high-profile smartphones are just around the corner," said Taylor Martin, Managing Editor of PhoneDog.
