Good news today for fans of QWERTY Android smartphones on Verizon, as a new batch of benchmark test results show that Samsung may be prepping a new Stratosphere model for Big Red. Benchmark results for a device with the model number SCH-I425 have been discovered on GLBenchmark, and according to the page, the device features a Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon S4 processor, 1280x720 screen resolution and Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. The hardware's product ID is listed as "godivaltevzw," suggesting that this is an LTE-capable handset that may be codenamed Godiva.
There are no specific mentions of a physical keyboard or the name "Stratosphere" in the SCH-I425's benchmark results, but because the original Stratosphere is also known as the SCH-I405 and the Stratosphere II is also the SCH-I415, this new SCH-I425 model number would be a good fit for the next member of the Stratosphere family. The bad news is that the only information we've got on the SCH-I425 is this benchmark, so it's not clear when the device might be released or what it looks like. For physical QWERTY fans on Verizon that may have been underwhelmed by the Stratosphere II at its launch, though, this new device may be worth keeping an eye on.
