Continuing its long run as the overall top smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy Note II took first place in the People's Choice Chart and Mobile Tech Experts' Chart for PhoneDog Media's Official Smartphone Rankings™ for week 44. For the foreseeable future, the Samsung Galaxy Note II will likely remain the top pick. However, it's a new year and many new smartphone releases are on the horizon. MT PLEASANT, SC – For 44 weeks and counting, PhoneDog Media's Official Smartphone Rankings™ (OSR) has set the standard for ranking the market's hottest smartphones by weighing experts' and readers' opinions in respective charts. Once again, the Samsung Galaxy Note II took first place in both charts. It widened it lead over the Nokia Lumia 920 in the People's Choice Chart and, with 41 points, it led by six votes in the Mobile Tech Experts' Chart.
The Nokia Lumia 920 was once again the #2 smartphone in the People's Choice Chart, trailing the Samsung Galaxy Note II by 118 votes. The Samsung Galaxy S III took third, falling 60 votes short of second place. In the Mobile Tech Experts' chart, the Apple iPhone 5 held on to second place with 35 points. In third was the HTC DROID DNA with 21 expert points.
