I knew ZTE would announce the Grand S prior to going to CES. It was publicly available information as it was listed on the CES Press Events page, but no one actually knew what the Grand S was beforehand. It was under the radar and, honestly, very few U.S. customers care about phones that come from ZTE as its phones rarely come to the U.S. in a big way. ZTE phones stateside usually dominate the low-end prepaid sector.
The Grand S was actually quite surprising. I walked over to ZTE's booth thinking, "I'm not even sure I need to shoot this. I'm wasting my time walking all the way from North Hall." But when I got there, aside from the estranged bridal theme, the ZTE booth was exciting and quite great. The Grand S is undoubtedly a high-end phone and boasts some serious specifications. It has a 5-inch 1080p display, 2GB RAM, 16GB built-in storage, a microSD card slot, 13-megapixel camera, 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset and LTE connectivity. It is also surprisingly thin at only 6.9mm.
There's no word on whether this phone will arrive here in the States, but if it does, we'll be the first to let you know. For your viewing pleasure, I have included a small gallery below.
