Late last month, some Motorola DROID RAZR and DROID RAZR MAXX owners began receiving an over the air update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of nowhere. The update stopped hitting users shortly after it started, and neither Motorola nor Verizon have offered an explanation for what happened. The good news is that Motorola today revealed when the remainder of DROID RAZR and DROID RAZR MAXX owners will get their own taste of Jelly Bean. Over on its official Facebook page, Moto says that the full Jelly Bean update for the DROID RAZR and DROID RAZR MAXX is expected to kick off in Q1 2013.
Motorola originally revealed back in October that the DROID RAZR and its MAXX brother would be updated to Jelly Bean. While some users were lucky enough to grab the Android 4.1 update during its brief rollout last month, many others ran into issues trying to download it or were simply told that they were already up to date, so it's good to hear that Moto is planning to begin a broad push this quarter. The timeframe given is somewhat broad, but hey, it's better than no timeframe at all. Here's to hoping that Moto can stick to that window and that it doesn't wait until the end of Q1 to the push. We'll give you a shout once we hear more. How many of you DROID RAZR and DROID RAZR MAXX owners were able to snag the update when it hit last month?
