After making its big debut at CES last year, the Huawei Ascend P1 is now easily available for purchase in unlocked form here in the U.S. Huawei announced today that the Ascend P1 is now being sold by Amazon for $449.99. The device features a 4.3-inch 960x540 Super AMOLED display, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 8-megapixel rear and 1.3-megapixel front cameras, 4GB storage and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The unlocked Ascend P1 also features pentaband WCDMA support and will play nice with both AT&T and T-Mobile 3G here in the U.S.
It's certainly been a while since we've heard anything about the Ascend P1, and when compared with high-end Android handsets that've come out recently, the P1's spec sheet plants it in the mid-range tier of the Android world. Still, it's nice to see Huawei making the unlocked Ascend P1 readily available to any U.S.-based customers, and it'd be great if the company continued doing so (although perhaps a bit more quickly) in the future.
