One of the things that Nokia has been known for as of late is its polycarbonate body construction, which its used on high-end smartphones like the Lumia 920, Lumia 900, Lumia 800 and Nokia N9. According to a new rumor, though, the Finnish firm is planning to switch things up with at least one of its upcoming handsets. A report from The Verge claims that Nokia is prepping a new Lumia model codenamed "Catwalk" that features an aluminum body. The Catwalk will reportedly be a follow-up to the Lumia 920 and will have similar specs to that unit, but the aluminum body will allow it to be thinner and lighter than the 920. Nokia is also said to be working on two other Lumias, and all three models are slated for launch later this year.

While Nokia's polycarbonate body designs have received praise from reviewers in the past, the Lumia 920 was seen by some as a bit of a bigger, meaty device. Switching over to an aluminum construction would certainly address those complaints, and it'll be interesting to see what kind of aluminum body that Nokia can cook up, especially since it's been a while since we've seen a high-end aluminum handset from Elop and Co.
