There haven't been any recent announcements about a new ZTE phone for T-Mobile, but according to an FCC filing, it certainly looks like one is coming. Discovered by Phone Scoop, a new FCC report has detailed a new ZTE device with the model number V970T. The photos included in the filing show T-Mobile branding on the V970T's rear, and the phone also features support for T-Mobile's AWS 1700MHz band. The evidence that this thing is Magenta-bound doesn't stop there, as the V970's user manual contains quite a bit of magenta text as well as a screenshot with a wallpaper similar to the one used on the T-Mobile's LG Optimus L9. In addition to passing through the FCC, the V970T has been certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance (PDF link).
The FCC's filing is unsurprisingly lacking when it comes to specs for this ZTE device, but its V970T model number suggests that this is a T-Mobile version of the Grand X V970. That device features a 4.3-inch 960x540 display, dual-core processor and 5-megapixel camera. There's no word yet on when the V970T might actually launch, but if its spec sheet is similar to the international Grand X's, it'll likely slot in to the mid-range section of T-Mo's lineup. Now that it's been given the green light from the FCC, the V970T is one step closer to landing on T-Mobile's magenta shelves. We'll give you a shout once we get more details on its availability.
