Back in March 2012, AT&T revealed a list of 10 products that would be updated to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and by now the majority of those products have been bumped up to ICS. One that hasn't, though, is the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9. That's finally about to change, as Samsung has announced the Android 4.0 update for AT&T's Galaxy Tab 8.9 on its official support page for the device. The update will bring the AT&T Tab 8.9 up to Android 4.0.4 and baseband version I957UCLK4.
Once you Tab 8.9 owners are ready to make the jump from Android 3.2 to Android 4.0.4, you'll need to grab your tablet, a computer loaded up with Samsung's Kies software and a USB cable. That's because Samsung says that the update won't be rolling out over the air. The benefits that come with updating to ICS are worth it, though, including goodies like resizable widgets and access to Android 4.0-only apps like the Chrome browser. Samsung also says that this update includes improvements to device stability.
