Ready for more Magenta-flavored news, T-Mobile folk? That's precisely what we've got for you this afternoon, as T-Mobile CTO Neville Ray took some time on stage during the Detusche Telekom Capital Markets Day 2012 event today to name a trio of markets that now have access to T-Mo's refarmed 1900MHz HSPA+ network. As noted by our amigos at TmoNews, the newest cities in the 1900MHz HSPA+ club are Atlanta, Minneapolis and Seattle.
This latest expansion brings the total number of areas with full access to T-Mobile's 1900MHz HSPA+ coverage up to 18. For those that don't know, T-Mobile has been busy refarming its 1900MHz spectrum to be used for HSPA+ service rather than the slower 2G service that it was used for previously. This allows for faster data speeds on unlocked devices, including the iPhone.
Speaking of the iPhone, T-Mobile announced today that it will offer some unspecified Apple products in 2013. It's thought that the iPhone could be included in that batch, so expect T-Mobile to continue to aggressively roll out its 1900MHz HSPA+ service across the country to help prepare for the possible arrival of Apple's smartphone. Any of you T-Mobile folk located in one of the freshly-refarmed locales?
