Right on schedule, the Nexus 4 is now back in stock on the Google Play store. Google announced this morning that the new handset would be made available for purchase today at 12:00 p.m. PST, 3:00 p.m. EST, and both the 8GB and 16GB versions are currently featuring an "Add to Cart" button as promised. Once again, the 8GB Nexus 4 will set you back $299, while the more capacious 16GB variant carries a price of $349. The 8GB model is listed as shipping in four to five weeks, while the 16GB unit has a much shorter shipping window of one to two weeks.

For those that are curious about the Nexus 4 or may have forgotten its specs while refreshing the Google Play store, the LG-made handset touts a 4.7-inch 1280x768 IPS display, 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 8-megapixel rear and 1.3-megapixel front cameras, 2GB RAM and a 2,100mAh battery. It also comes preloaded with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, and models that are already in the wild have started getting updated to Android 4.2.1.

There's no telling how long it'll take for Google's stock of the Nexus 4 to deplete today, but it disappeared pretty quickly when the N4 was first put up for sale earlier this month, so it'd be wise to pull the trigger fast if you're thinking about picking one up. UPDATE: Both versions of the Nexus 4 are showing "Sold Out" for many folks, but refreshing the pages will sometimes present the option of adding a unit to the cart. Are any of you having any luck with actually getting an order through?

UPDATE 2: In a statement recently sent to CNET, Google has said that the Play Store is experiencing heavy traffic that's causing some users to see errors, but that the Nexus 4 is not sold out. After refreshing the pages for both the 8GB and 16GB models, both are listed as "Shipping Soon" with the "Add to Cart" button ready for a click, so it may be worth trying to reload Google Play a few more times if you've been unlucky so far.

UPDATE 3: A banner is now present on top of the Nexus 4 product pages that reiterates the information in the aforementioned Google statement. The banner on both pages reads as follows:

"Google Play is currently experiencing very high traffic. Nexus 4 is not sold out and will still be available for purchase. Please try again shortly. Thank you for your patience."
