Verizon is finally expanding its Windows Phone lineup this month with both the Nokia Lumia 822 and HTC Windows Phone 8X, and any customers on Big Red that are interested in claiming one of the two devices for their very own will soon have the opportunity to do just that. Verizon has announced that pre-orders for the Lumia 822 and Windows Phone 8X will kick off tomorrow, November 9, at 1:00 A.M. ET. The Lumia 822 will be available in black, gray or white for $99.99 with a two-year contract, while the Windows Phone 8X will be priced at $199.99 and will be offered in black, blue and red.
When it comes to actual launch dates, the folks at Verizon aren't quite ready to talk specifics, saying only that both the Lumia 822 and Windows Phone 8X will be here by Thanksgiving. Verizon will also be offering the mysterious Samsung ATIV Odyssey before the end of the year. The good news is that Windows Phone-starved subscribers on Big Red that don't want to wait to find out what the Odyssey is will be able to plunk down cash for Nokia and HTC's offerings tomorrow morning, which ought to help relieve some of the stress of waiting for a new Windows Phone on Verizon. Once we hear more on actual launch dates for the Lumia 822 and Windows Phone 8X, we'll give you a shout.
