Verizon said earlier this week that it would soon offer the Samsung Galaxy S III in Amber Brown and Sapphire Black, and it looks like the big red carrier wasn't kidding. Verizon's home page today shows that the brown and black versions of the Galaxy S III are now available for $199.99 with a two-year contract. Both models are available on Verizon's website with 16GB of built-in storage, so customers hoping for more memory will have to settle for adding a microSD card. It's also worth noting that the Amber Brown Galaxy S III is listed as an online exclusive.
The Amber Brown and Sapphire Black versions of the Verizon Galaxy S III feature the same specs as the Pebble Blue and Marble White models that've been available since July. That means that you can expect a 4.8-inch 1280x720 HD Super AMOLED display, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 8-megapixel rear and 1.9-megapixel front cameras, 4G LTE connectivity and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Samsung revealed these new Galaxy S III colors in August, but the company didn't say when or if we might see any of them in the U.S., so it's good to see the brown and black models land on Verizon's shelves. UPDATE: Verizon has officially announced the new Amber Brown and Sapphire Black Galaxy S III models. Both colors are now available online, and the Sapphire Black unit will arrive in Verizon's brick and mortar stores on October 22.
