As is usually the case in the months following the introduction of a new version of Android, many users of Google's mobile operating system are wondering when their particular handset will be updated to Jelly Bean, the latest Android treat. One of the most high-profile devices awaiting an Android 4.1 update is Samsung's Galaxy S III. While neither Samsung nor the U.S. carriers have revealed when the various models of the Galaxy S III will be updated to Jelly Bean, Samsung did recently update its Android 4.1 support page with listings for the AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular and Verizon versions of the device, saying that the upgrades for all five products are "coming soon."

While the "coming soon" timeframe given by Samsung isn't exactly the most precise window ever, at least owners of the U.S. Galaxy S III variants can take solace in the fact that the company has started communicating details on the Jelly Bean update. And hey, now Galaxy S III folk have a page to obsessively check for new information. It's also worth noting that the Galaxy S III's bump up to Android 4.1 began rolling out to devices in Poland late last month, and at the time Samsung said that the update would be pushed to other markets "gradually,' so at least JB for the GSIII has begun rolling out somewhere.
