It was less than a month ago when Apple began sending out invitations to its September 12 iPhone 5 event, but according to a new report, we may soon see invitations for another Apple gathering go out. Fortune claims to have been told by "a major Apple investor" that the Cupertino firm will send out invitations on October 10 for an event at which the oft-rumored iPad mini may be introduced. This investor claims to have heard the information from several sources. Fortune goes on to speculate that, if this rumor holds true, the actual event could be held on October 17, with a November 2 launch to follow.
A rumor that surfaced back in late August also claimed that Apple is planning to hold an iPad mini event sometime in October, but so far there's been no reports with an actual date on which the shindig might be held. As for the smaller iPad itself, the device is expected to feature a 7.85-inch display and a design similar to that of the iPod touch, with thin bezels along the sides of the screen when the device is held in the portrait orientation. Whenever Apple does decide to send out invitations for its iPad mini event, we'll be sure to give you a shout, so keep it locked to PhoneDog for more.
