The Motorola DROID Bionic has had a bit of a rough life. The phone was originally introduced in January 2011, but didn't actually launch until September 2011, and despite the fact that Motorola's update schedule shows that the Bionic was slated to receive an Ice Cream Sandwich update in "early Q3," it's still ICS-less. Bionic owners recently voiced their frustrations on the Google+ page of Punit Soni, VP of Product at Motorola, and in response Soni shared some interesting information. Soni acknowledged that Bionic owners have "gotten a raw deal" and that Motorola "could do way better." He also says that the company has "a plan" for the Bionic, though he didn't elaborate on exactly what it may be, saying that he's still working to make sure that Moto "can publish it, commit and follow up."

While it's unclear exactly what Motorola's plan for the Bionic might be, Soni's statements might give owners of the device some hope their Ice Cream Sandwich update isn't far off, especially considering that we're very nearly into the fourth quarter of 2012. It's unclear if the Bionic will ever be updated to Jelly Bean, but Motorola recently revealed that customers with devices that won't see an Android 4.1 update will receive a $100 credit for a new device, so Bionic folk may have that to look forward too.
