The jury in the trial between Apple and Samsung may have issued its verdict in August, but that doesn't mean that the case is through just yet. Apple filed a motion late last evening seeking an additional $707 million in damages, reports Reuters, as well as a permanent injunction against Samsung products that are said to have infringed upon Apple's patents. The additional damages being sought by Apple include things like $400 million for design infringement and $135 million for Samsung's willful infringement of Apple utility patents.
Additionally, Apple is seeking a permanent sales ban on Samsung devices that would cover not only the infringing products in the trial but also "any other product with a feature or features not more than colorably different from any of the infringing feature or features in any of the Infringing Products." Reuters notes that this type of injunction, if awarded, could be extended to other Samsung products, like the Galaxy S III.
While Apple is seeking additional damages and permanent injunctions, Samsung has asked for a new trial between the two companies. Of course, just because Apple and Samsung have asked for these things doesn't mean they'll get all or even part of what they're seeking. For now we'll just have to wait and see how the court feels about Apple and Samsung's requests. An injunction hearing for the Apple-Samsung case is set for December 6.
