There have been a number of legal battles involving Apple and various Android device manufacturers, but apparently that hasn't stopped the CEOs of Apple and Google from having conversations about the patent issues that the two companies' products are caught up in. According to Reuters, Apple CEO Tim Cook and Google CEO Larry Page have been speaking recently about topics like the patent-related conflicts involving the companies, with a phone conversation between the two execs happening as recently as last week. The two are reportedly going to be talking again soon, though it's not known exactly when that might happen.
This isn't the first time that we've heard about CEOs of major tech companies talking patents, as the CEOs of Apple and Samsung met back in May to try and reach a settlement in one of their battles. Unsurprisingly, nothing came of those talks, and a jury recently handed Apple a victory in that case. While it's not unclear if these latest conversations between Tim Cook and Larry Page will actually lead anywhere, but it's good to hear that the two execs are speaking, and I'm sure that anyone that's growing weary of all of the patent battles going on in the world of mobile would agree with that. For now we'll have to wait to hear more about these latest talks and imagine how interesting it'd be to be a fly on the wall while the conversations were going on.
