While Apple has yet to officially announce the launch date of the new iPhone (or even the iPhone itself), several reports came out late last month alleging that the device will be unveiled on September 12 and released on September 21. The iPhone launch rumblings have grown a little louder today, as TechCrunch claims to have been told by a Verizon employee that the big red carrier is imposing a staff-wide vacation blackout from September 21 through September 30.
Today's leak doesn't guarantee that the new iPhone will be making its retail debut on September 21, but considering the aforementioned launch rumors as well as previous carrier vacation blackouts, it certainly makes that date look even more likely than it did before. Now we just need Apple to send out invitations for the event at which it'll unveil the new iOS smartphone. If the September 12 introduction rumor holds true, hopefully it won't be much longer before those invitations begin hitting inboxes. How many of you are planning on picking up the new iPhone once it launches?
