MetroPCS just officially took the wraps off of the LG Motion 4G, but the new Metro smartphone phone fun isn't done quite yet. At a press event earlier today at which Phone Scoop was in attendance, the carrier teased a handful of its upcoming 4G LTE smartphones, which are slated to hit shelves later in 2012. Obviously the biggie in that image up there is the Samsung Galaxy S III, which MetroPCS says is currently undergoing testing and is expected to launch "later this year." Another Samsung-made handset is headed to MetroPCS with support for Voice over LTE (VoLTE), a service that MetroPCS launched earlier this month. Also in MetroPCS's pipeline is a 4.3-inch ZTE handset and a mysterious "Coolpad" that could launch as soon as later this week for $149.
With the Galaxy S III already available on AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular and Verizon (and C Spire Wireless in its sights), it's not a total surprise to learn that Samsung's flagship handset is also due to arrive on MetroPCS. That doesn't make the news any less exciting, though. There's no word yet on how much the Galaxy S III may cost once it hits MetroPCS's shelves, but since the carrier doesn't deal in contracts, those customers interested in the handset may want to begin saving their pennies now. As usual, you can bet that we'll pass along more details on these devices as we get 'em.
