A rumor began flying around last month claiming that the Kyocera Rise would be launched on Sprint, but there was no word on when that release might happen or how much the handset might cost. We've got that information now, though, thanks to a Sprint document that's made its way online. As you can see above, the Rise looks set to arrive on the Now Network on August 19, complete with a price tag of $19.99 with a $50 mail-in rebate and two-year contract.

With a contract price of $20, one might guess that the Rise has a fairly modest spec sheet, and that's an accurate assessment of this slider. The Rise features a 3.5-inch 320x480 display, 1GHz processor, 3.2-megapixel camera, 512MB RAM, slide-out keyboard and 1,500mAh battery. Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is preloaded on the Rise, and it's also said that the device will gain support for Sprint's Direct Connect push-to-talk service. With that feature list and price tag, the Rise could be an option for folks looking for an affordable, entry-level smartphone. And with a launch that's a little over a week out, it may not be long before interested customers are able to say "YES" to physical keyboards by picking up a Kyocera Rise.
