In the market for a new home for you and your unlocked GSM handset? Simple Mobile has some news that may just pique your interest. The T-Mobile MVNO today announced that it has dropped the price of its Unlimited Nationwide Talk, Text and High Speed Web plan down to $50. The plan used to cost $60 per month, and since Simple Mobile operates using T-Mobile's HSPA+ network, customers can access data speeds of up to 42Mbps, provided they're in an area with that coverage and have the necessary hardware.
Simple Mobile offers a selection of unlocked handsets on its website, and the operator also sells SIM cards that allow customers to bring their own unlocked hardware onto the service. While unlocked and unsubsidized smartphones generally cost more than their on-contract counterparts, buying an unlocked GSM phone also allows it to be used with any GSM carrier, including prepaid ones that may offer cheaper plans than what's available on postpaid carriers. If you're interested in checking out Simple Mobile's newly-reduced $50 plan, you can do so right here.
