Registered iOS developers, start your update engines! Apple has begun pushing out iOS 6 beta 3 to users that are a part of its developer program. The new software is available as an over-the-air download, found by going into Settings > General > Software Update on your registered device, and will also be made available in Apple's official Dev Center.

This latest update comes three weeks after Apple seeded iOS 6 beta 2 to developers. As with past iOS beta releases, this latest update is only available to users that have officially registered to joing Apple's developer program. Apple has said that iOS 6 will officially launch to the public this fall, with the update coming to the iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, new iPad, iPad 2 and the fourth-generation iPod touch. iOS 6 contains new features such as Passbook and Apple's own Maps application, though the company has noted that not all of the additions found in iOS 6 will be made available to all devices.

UPDATE: MacRumors notes that there have been some tweaks to Apple's Maps app in iOS 6. New settings available for the Maps app include the ability to change the volume of the voice in turn-by-turn navigation in the settings, the option of displaying distance in miles or kilometers, the choice of having map labels display always in English or the local language and the ability to set map label sizes to either "Normal" or "Large."
