It was just last night that some AT&T Samsung Galaxy S III pre-order customers began receiving shipping notifications that listed their orders with an expected delivery date of June 21, aka today. Now AT&T has provided an update on the situation, saying that those folks may not actually receive their device by the quoted June 21 date. AT&T says that, due to "manufacturer supply constraints," pre-order shipments have been delayed and that customers that were previously given an expected June 21 delivery date should now expect their Galaxy S III no later than June 25. Future pre-orders are expected to be delivered within 10 business days. AT&T will alert impacted customers of these changes via an SMS and email. AT&T's full statement:
"Manufacturer supply constraints of the 4G LTE Samsung Galaxy S III have caused a delay to expected pre-order shipments. Customers who were previously quoted a delivery date of June 21st should now expect their device to arrive no later than Monday, June 25th. We currently estimate future pre-orders to arrive within 10 business days based on available supply. Impacted customers will receive both an SMS and email notifying them of this change."
Some folks are reporting that their pre-ordered Galaxy S III is already on a truck for delivery today, so it looks like not everyone will be affected by this delay. However, anyone that has yet to place a pre-order but was planning to do so soon might be in for a wait of up to 10 business days. We're also still without any actual launch date for AT&T's Galaxy S III, but for right now it looks like AT&T is focusing on getting pre-orders out to customers. We'll pass along details on the general release of the AT&T Galaxy S III as we get them. How are things looking for you, pre-order customers? Anyone seeing that their Galaxy S III is out for delivery?
