Well, that didn't take long. Just one day after Nokia announced that the 808 PureView will be sold by Amazon here in the U.S., the online retailer has put the Symbian-powered handset up for pre-order. Interested customers can now plunk down their hard-earned $699 to reserve an 808 PureView of their very own, and the device is eligible for free Prime shipping for Amazon Prime members or free Super Saver shipping for non-members. The 808 PureView is slated to launch on July 8.
As a reminder, the Nokia 808 PureView being offered by Amazon comes unlocked and contract-free, and it'll work with both AT&T and T-Mobile 3G here in the U.S. The phone touts a spec list that includes a 4-inch 640x360 ClearBlack display, 16GB storage, microSD slot, NFC support and a 1,400mAh battery. Oh yeah, and there's that 41-megapixel camera sensor. While the 808 PureView and its off-contract price tag won't be for everyone, Nokia and Amazon deserve some kudos for making it nice and easy for folks that are interested in the phone to actually pull the trigger on one. So who's reaching for their credit card right now?
