Motorola recently said that both the DROID RAZR and DROID RAZR MAXX are scheduled to be updated to Android 4.0 during the second quarter, and it looks like the company might actually kick things off just before its self-imposed deadline. According to Droid-Life, Motorola has begun inviting members of the Motorola Feedback Network that own the devices to take part in a preview of a "new software release," which is commonly referred to as a soak test. As is usually the case with these tests, though, the invitations don't mention exactly what the update entails. Sources speaking to Droid-Life claim that the soak test is scheduled to begin on June 22 and that the update will begin rolling out to the public on June 27.
Checking Motorola's Android 4.0 update schedule shows that the company still expects the RAZR and RAZR MAXX to be bumped to Android 4.0 during the second quarter, which will be wrapping up at the end of June. So while we won't know what this update is at least until Motorola rolls it out to testers (and possibly not even then), it definitely seems like this new software that's due to be tested could indeed be Ice Cream Sandwich-flavored. If the aformentioned sources are to be believed, the soak test could get underway at the end of this week, so it may not be long before more light is shed on this matter. Stay tuned.
