As the votes in the Official Smartphone Rankings have proven over the last couple weeks, the choice between the HTC One X and Samsung Galaxy S III is a close call. Check out PhoneDog fan Rishu Agrawal's user review of the HTC One X and how he solved his dilemma between picking one or the other.
Gorgeous and seamless! By Rishu Agrawal, posted: June 18, 2012
After a huge dilemma over whether to pick the Samsung Galaxy SIII or HTC One X, I picked the One X on 28th May, (just days before I could have picked up a SIII from the market). I have been using it ever since and I must say, I'm impressed to say the least. Here are the detailed findings:
1. Display- The display is just marvellous! I just can't get my eyes off it, its that beautiful. The colours are well balanced, the brightness levels are pretty good and its the best display I have ever seen on a smartphone. You really have to see it to believe it!
2. Reception and Call quality- The reception of the phone has been flawless with no dropped signals whatsoever. I use wi-fi for internet access and the connectivity has remained stellar throughout. The call quality is pretty decent as well with the loudspeaker and call mic being perfectly loud and the party on the other side has been able to hear my voice pretty clearly. So for calling purposes, you're good to go with the One X!
3. Battery life- The main complaint of most of the One X's users has been its battery but trust me, it isn't bad. I am quite a heavy user myself and the battery has always managed to last throughout the day for me and doesn't disappoint me at all. Granted, it may not be as good as the S III but it is good nonetheless!
4.Design/Form factor- The main reason I picked this phone (over others) is its stupendous design. I have the white one and it is visually appealing at minimum praise! It has a matte finish at the back which makes it quite pleasing to hold and the placement of the volume rocker is very convenient as well. Due to its large size (4.7 inches isn't small for someone with as big hands as mine) the key at the top can be hard to reach at times, especially with one hand use, but that's no big issue.
Apps & Media support- My One X has a quad-core Tegra 3 processor which makes it blazing fast. So far, I haven't experienced any sorts of lag and the fluidity of the phone has won me over. Despite Sense being a heavy UI, the processor does a good job at providing an awesome user friendly experience. Coming from Touchwiz, Sense 4 really felt like an upgrade. The music quality, though not much loud from the in-built speakers, is pretty pleasing to the ears. Due to its screen and display, this phone is most suitable for viewing photos, videos, games, etc etc. The camera is pretty awesome as well with a ton of cool features, and it does live up to my expectations! Overall, if you are planning to get this beastly beauty, you won't be dissapointed and I, for one, am absolutely in love with this device with no regrets whatsoever!
