We've been hearing about the "Tango" version of Windows Phone for some time now, but today Microsoft took the time to post details on the update to its official website. The new software is version 7.10.8773.98 and brings with it the ability to add multiple pieces of content (pictures, video, etc.) to a text message and support for exporting contacts to a SIM card as well as importing select SIM card contacts onto a phone. Microsoft's full changelog:
Update 7.10.8773.98
Messaging. Adds new messaging capabilities to your phone. You can now attach multiple pictures, videos, audio notes and ringtones to text messages.
SIM card. Adds features related to SIM card contacts. You can now export phone contacts to a SIM card and selectively import SIM card contacts to your phone.
Other quality improvements. Includes many other improvements to Windows Phone.
This update is not available in all markets or for all phones.
As Microsoft notes at the end of its changelog, the 7.10.8773.98 update won't be coming to all markets and phones. Unfortunately, the company doesn't offer any details on which markets or phones will receive the new software or when they'll begin getting it, so for now Windows Phone users without the update will have to stare at the changelog and imagine what it'd be like to be able to add multiple images to a text message. We'll pass along more details on the rollout of the 7.10.8773.98 update as we get them.
