Sprint MVNO Ting announced back in April that it plans to offer 4G LTE service once Sprint's LTE coverage goes live, and now the company shed some light on the LTE-capable devices that it plans to launch. In a blog post on its website, Ting has said that it expects to offer both the LG Viper 4G LTE and the HTC EVO 4G LTE (as well as the 3G-only LG Optimus Elite). It isn't yet sure exactly when it might launch those devices, but the carrier says they should be coming "sooner than later." Ting also expects that it'll release the Samsung Galaxy S III, with its "best guess" for that handset's arrival being around September or October, and that it's also working to get the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
What about non-Android smartphones? Ting says that it no plans to offer a BlackBerry device and that, while it's "open" to Windows Phone, it currently has no news to share about upcoming devices running Microsoft's mobile OS. As for the iPhone, a Ting employee recently responded to a question about the newly-announced Virgin Mobile iPhone on the company's support forum, saying that it'd like to offer the Apple's handset but that there's no news to report. However, Ting mentions at the end of its new blog post that it's "working very hard on a couple of exciting things" that it can't talk about right now, adding that those plans "could take a very long time to bear fruit (cough)."
Since Ting is a Sprint MVNO, it makes sense that the carrier would offer devices that've already graced Sprint's shelves since they've already been given the green light to work with Sprint's network. It's good to hear that Ting is working to release more high-end Sprint phones like the EVO 4G LTE, and I'm sure that its customers would love to see the Galaxy S III come to the MVNO too. While it's not yet clear when those phones might actually become available on Ting, at least users have an idea of which devices that their operator is working to add to its lineup.
