Just a day after a rumor claimed that Apple is ordering screens for its new iPhone that are larger than the 3.5-inch display that's been used in all iPhones to date, another report has surfaced to support that allegation. According to Reuters's sources, Apple is planning to use a screen that measures 4 inches in size in its next iPhone The tipsters add that the Cupertino firm has started to place orders for the larger displays with the same three manufacturers mentioned in yesterday's report (LG, Sharp and Japan Display) and that production could begin next month.
So there's another claim of a 4-inch iPhone to add to the rumor pile. Obviously there's still a lot of information up in the air concerning the new iPhone's rumored screen size increase, like what resolution the new display will be, but the rumor mill definitely seems to be feeling the idea of a larger iPhone this year. Of course, last year there were several rumors claiming that Apple would introduce a bigger iPhone in 2011, but the company ended up giving us the 3.5-inch iPhone 4S, so nothing is official until Tim Cook and Co. say it is. There's certainly some demand for screen size increase in the new iPhone, so it'll be interesting to see if this is finally the year that Apple ups the size of its smartphone. How many of you would be interested in a 4-inch iPhone?
